Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Oven
  • Hand mixer
  • Baking tray

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Unsalted Soft Butter
  • 250 g Caster Sugar
  • 5 Eggs
  • 200 g Flour (sifted)
  • 50 g Chocolates chips
  • 50 ml Rum

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°c /350°f [ 28 x 10 cm loaf tin]
  • Make ready loaf tin or baking tray , make sure apply butter nicely and put into the tray baking paper also
  • place the butter in a bow and beat with a spatula or hand mixer until creamy. add the icing sugar and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy
  • Add the eggs ,one at a time .beating well after each addition
  • Fold in the flour &chocolate chips ;stir well to combine
  • Pour the Batter into the prepared loaf pan to come about ¾ up the sides .
  • Bake for[180°c minutes=45] or until the point of a knife inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
  • Turn out onto a rack and , while the chocolate chip pound cake is still warm , sprinkle or brush with the Rum serve warm or cold

Notes

chef tip :
  • if you  like, add the rum to the cake batter before baking
  • get the butter & eggs  room temperature
