
Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

- Large Mixing Bowl
- Oven
- Hand mixer
- Baking tray
Ingredients
- 250 g Unsalted Soft Butter
- 250 g Caster Sugar
- 5 Eggs
- 200 g Flour (sifted)
- 50 g Chocolates chips
- 50 ml Rum
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°c /350°f [ 28 x 10 cm loaf tin]
- Make ready loaf tin or baking tray , make sure apply butter nicely and put into the tray baking paper also
- place the butter in a bow and beat with a spatula or hand mixer until creamy. add the icing sugar and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy
- Add the eggs ,one at a time .beating well after each addition
- Fold in the flour &chocolate chips ;stir well to combine
- Pour the Batter into the prepared loaf pan to come about ¾ up the sides .
- Bake for[180°c minutes=45] or until the point of a knife inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
- Turn out onto a rack and , while the chocolate chip pound cake is still warm , sprinkle or brush with the Rum serve warm or cold
Notes
chef tip :
- if you like, add the rum to the cake batter before baking
- get the butter & eggs room temperature
